Launched in October 2017, Kapwing is a collaborative platform for creating images, videos, and GIFs.
We put them on our list for four reasons:
1. They're growing very fast
In a year since coming out of stealth with 100,000 users, Kapwing has grown 10X, to more than 1 million.

2. They are attacking a HUGE market.
TechCrunch described Kapwing as the Adobe of the Meme Generation. Adobe has a $180B market cap, if Kapwing can accomplish a fraction of that, the early employees will be very successful.
3. They are still very small in terms of amount of employees
One of the biggest factors of the amount of equity you receive as an employee is how early you join. Below is a picture of one of the most liked responses to "How much equity do early employees typically get?" on Quora:
Using this math anyone who joins this company soon will receive a tenth of a percent or so. If Kapwing can exit at 1/180th the size of Adobe, all of the first 50 employees will be millionaires. I think that is good deal.
4. They have a good amount of funding by reputable VC's
In September 2019, Kapwing raised another $11M which brought their totals funding to $12.7M.
Kleiner Perkins and CRV are two of the most reputable VC firms in Silicon Valley. They have both invested in Kapwing.
Harry Stebbings and Village Global are two up and coming Angel Investors/ VC Firms in Silicon Valley. They have also both invest in Kapwing.
